Kappa Cares for Kids PDF Print E-mail

Synopsis:   The purpose of this LHC study group project is to assist the Danville chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc., in planning for the long-term success of an important new public service initiative: Kappa Cares for Kids.  The goal of the Kappa Cares for Kids program is to provide an emergency overnight bag filled with supplies to each and every Hendricks County child who is removed from his or her home for abuse or neglect.

Synopsis: This group created a Hendricks County Schools Website.  This site has a direct link to both internet and school district resources.  Each school will have a link to THEYREOURKIDS.ORG. Websites.  This site will help keep the parents involved in their children’s school and their education.

Synopsis:   This project is a continuation of a previous project completed in 2006.  In this project the group made it easier to access each school’s website when someone needed.  With the website already set up, our focus was then set on Kindergarten and first graders and a marketing strategy was brought in.

Synopsis:    This group learned that there was a significant need for a directory of child care services.  They decided to tackle the project of updating a guide that had been produced several years ago and the author wasn’t eager to take on this project.  With the previous authors help the produced a written guide for Child Care Services in Hendricks County.

Synopsis:

This group hosted a free event that targeted youth ages 12-18 and included vendor booths for organizations pertinent to youth to share information and a "shout out" time where panelists made up of experts in various fields could answer questions and discuss topics relevant to teens and pre-teens in Hendricks County.

Since 1993, Leadership Hendricks County has given citizens the background and inside information they need to take on effective leadership roles in the Hendricks County community. Each graduating class within the program has completed a Team Discovery project to address a current community need. Leadership Hendricks County, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to seek, prepare, involve and sustain leaders from diverse backgrounds to address community and countywide changes.
