Meet Jack Sadler!
Recently announcing his candidacy to run for Sheriff of Hendricks County, Captain Sadler says he learned a great deal from Leadership Hendricks County.
How and when have you been involved with Leadership Hendricks County?
I attended LHC Class of 2019, joined the Alumni Engagement Committee in 2020 and look forward to joining the LHC Board in 2021.
What has been your favorite moment or experience throughout your involvement?
My favorite experience while attending LHC class of 2019, was visiting Jack Maloney’s farm, just north of Brownsburg. Learning more about the tremendous agricultural work and opportunities we have here in our county was a very eye-opening experience. The corn that Jack made for us for lunch was amazing!
What did LHC teach you as a leader?
LHC reconfirmed for me the need for our leaders to stand up and be strong today more than ever. We must forge our own paths and be willing to step out of our comfort zone for the good of our community.
What would you tell others who are considering involvement in LHC’s programs?
I would encourage every community member to consider taking the opportunity to join this amazing group of leaders. They will undoubtedly learn a great deal from their involvement with LHC. We need the next group of community leaders to step up and be a part of our LHC family to ensure our core values continue to be steadfast for generations to come.
What is new since you were involved in Leadership Hendricks County?
In addition to the LHC responsibilities I mentioned above, I have had some exciting leadership opportunities since graduating LHC. In January-March of this year, I earned the privilege of attending the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA and was able to interact and learn with 255 law enforcement leaders from 32 countries during the 10 weeks of training.
I recently announced my candidacy to run for Sheriff of Hendricks County. Though the primary election is not until 2022, I am forging my own path of leadership and hope to serve as our next Hendricks County Sheriff.
Through the Indiana Sheriff’s Association, I am currently taking an online course with the Institute for Credible Leadership Development. I believe leaders are not born but are made, and I am doing everything I can to gain knowledge and experience along my personal leadership journey.
