Crisis Intervention: De-Escalation Training

Back by popular demand, Lt. Love returns to show you how the techniques he teaches to help law enforcement officers defuse tense situations and earn the trust of people in crisis can also be used in the workplace and other settings. When everyday situations start to go beyond stressful, understanding and using these proven techniques can keep things from spiraling out of control and guide everyone involved to better outcomes.

A lifelong Hendricks County resident, Evan was raised in Plainfield and graduated from Avon High School in 2000. After earning a Criminal Justice degree from UIndy, he attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and joined the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office in 2004. He was promoted to Corporal in 2015, Sergeant in 2017, then to Lieutenant in January 2023. Evan is the Assistant Enforcement Division Commander, a Team Leader on the Department’s Emergency Response Team, a field training officer, and less-lethal instructor. He is also a board member on the Crisis Intervention Training steering committee. He enjoys exercising, woodworking, and good food.
